Didn't Mo say that voters should move on from the 2020 election?
Anybody have Mo's direct quote on this?
I don't have the exact quote, but the statement was made in a joint appearance with Trump in Cullman. Brooks said that we would be better off moving on from fighting for the 2020 election and focus on making sure that what happened in 2020 never happens again.
Brooks has maintained from the beginning that he believes Trump won the 2020 election; in fact, he was the first member of Congress to publicly dispute the election results. He was also one of the speakers at the Jan 6 protest rally, and his speech was so strong that demotards initiated lawsuits against him and requested his censure and removal from congrass.
However, Brooks believes that our last chance to avoid the theft of the 2020 election occurred on January 6th, and that there is no mechanism in the constitution to undo the election and restore President Trump. President Trump requested that Brooks initiate efforts in congress to remove Biden and reinstate Trump. Brooks stated that there was no legal way to do so. That is what has drawn Trump's ire.
“There are some people who are despondent about the voter fraud and election theft in 2020,” Brooks said. “Folks, put that behind you, put that behind you.”
Boos began to echo from the crowd. Brooks continued, for a while.
“Yes,” he said. “Look forward, look forward, look forward. Beat them in 2022, beat them in 2024.”
After the crowd continued to object, Brooks began to soften his stance.
“All right, well, look back at it, but go forward and take advantage of it,” he said. “We have got to win in 2022. We’ve got to win in 2024.”
