A climate change class action lawsuit: is it viable?
Americanthinker.com ^ | 5/22/2022 | Christopher Garbacz

A few days ago, I suggested that a climate change class action lawsuit should be filed against those parties that clamor to destroy the economy via a Green Agenda that seeks to ban fossil fuels. Some commenters raised an interesting point: How do you prove damages? I think it’s possible and would serve as a good basis for any legal complaint.

The Green Agenda is supported in part or full by the following parties: federal, state, and local governments; universities; Green NGOs; foundations; corporations; renewable proponents/owners; and entrepreneurs. A court could determine if these entities are correct that anthropogenic climate change really will destroy the planet and mankind along with it.

To date, there’s never been an open evaluation of this issue, which traces directly to the UN IPCC Reports and the reports’ subsequent use to justify destroying the present universe of fossil fuel energy that supports our economy. With witnesses battling it out in a single forum, the court could assess whether it’s more likely than not that the world faces catastrophic destruction.

If there is no proven scientific basis for the Green Agenda, then it should be abandoned. Those harmed by the Green Agenda should be awarded the assessed value of the damages suffered.

"If there is no proven scientific basis for the Green Agenda, then it should be abandoned." Yeah, probably not gonna happen. Way too much dinero at stake for politicians and claus's pals to lose. Besides which, the current cabal would provide the "truth" about the issue. Because 'truth' versus 'facts', they choose 'truth. Don't let facts get in the way.

Banning fossil fuels will only help to eliminate
a large percentage of the Earth's human population.
And that is it's real intended purpose.

I would like to sue the state of California who’s forestry policies cause fires that literally blacken the skies over northern Nevada to the point where literally, without exaggeration you cannot see the noon day sun through most of every august. I love a good campfire, but I don’t want my living room to reek of it and not able to go outside or open my windows for half of the summer, yet I have to pay California gas prices of $5.50 to save the environment when just one of their fires alone spews more CO2 and god knows what other toxic gasses into our atmosphere than a century of Nevadas total emmisions including the mines. Also I get angrier and angrier at the never ending forests of solar panels springing forth everywhere in formerly pristine lands like a plague

How about a class action lawsuit for not upholding your oaths of office or raising property taxes above the legally prescribed limit?

I think everyone involved in the innocent carbon fuels industry has a claim against this sinister global climate change flimflam. Go for it.

“...how many billions of dollars did Obama throw at it?”

How much of it was laundered and kicked-back to him?

It’s a religion, why can’t we just have a band under separation of “church and state?”

Great article. Would love to see if modelling studies (lowest form of scientific evidence, like a hypothesis, garbage in, garbage out) would be enough to “prove” they are right.....when history tells us they have been wrong up until now.

It’s a religion. Separate it from the State.

I'm trying to think of a worse place to settle a scientific debate than the courts and am having a hard time coming up with one.
