FLASHBACK: Here's why gas is up $2 since Biden took office (NOT pootski!)

While the Biden administration continues to insist the record high prices at the gas pump are largely due to Russia's invasion of Ukraine, a video montage of the president's vows during the 2020 campaign to crush the industry that provides the vast majority of energy, along with his actions on his first day in office, suggest there are other factors in play.

In a July 2019 primary debate with his Democratic Party opponents hosted by CNN, Biden was asked, "Would there be any place for fossil fuels, including coal and fracking, in a Biden administration?"

No," he replied. "We would work it out. We would make sure it’s eliminated."

In the CNN debate, Biden stated emphatically: "No more drilling on federal lands. No more drilling, including offshore. No ability for the oil industry to continue to drill. Period."

In conversations with individual voters on the campaign trail, he promised to "end fossil fuels" and stop fracking and new pipelines.

Biden also affirmed that he would be willing to sacrifice economic growth and thousands of blue collar jobs to hasten the transition to alternative energy.

Just in case you need some ammo for any libgressives that you still associate with. Not that it will do any good. There is still a chunk of fools out there that are fine with whatever happens as long as it isn't 'orange man bad' and mean tweets. But, putin. Right? Fidiots! As far as sacrifice the economy? Purty sure the d.c. elites ain't sacrificing a damn thing. Higher gas prices will eventually lead to less driving for a lot of people. Which will in turn help save muvver erf. Grrrrrrrr!

First spread perception of shortage then the reality comes.

Much of the “shortage” is perception that is fed upon by futures traders who drive the prices up.

Has anyone had any problem getting gasoline or diesel as in going to the pump and finding it empty or restricted?

So far the only things I have seen that just could not be had are toilet paper and baby formula.

One of the factors that made the astonishing growth of America over the rest of the world after WWII possible is cheap energy. That made the cost of living cheaper and also enabled Americans to have more children than the Western Allies whose governments artificially kept energy costs high. (Not the only factor, but probably the biggest.)

…suggest there are other factors in play…

”SUGGEST”? There is one reason and one reason only — insane Marxist democrats and their infantile belief in “green” energy. The author is a coward to even suggest “suggest.”

Apart from the stupidity of that comment, who the hell is Biden (or any president) to make those kinds of decisions? Let Congress decide.

Yeah, I know there’s probably some regulation somewhere that allows this. But it’s wrong for Congress to just give up power like that. We weren’t supposed to have an imperial presidency.

Unfortunately, though true, not a thorough and deep analysis.

up $2 since Biden took office . . .

2$????? It's just shy of $5 here in Ohio! And it's expected to be at $6 by July 4.

Such a sweeping regulation cannot be lawful because the Constitution does not permit it and therefore forbids it.

People see the increase in gasoline and diesel prices every day as they drive any street and pass by a gasoline station.

What people are not seeing every day is the price of natural gas that has increased from about $2.50 to $8.00 since the Biden Crime Family regime began.

The three necessities of life are food, shelter, and transportation.

Oil and natural gas prices directly impact the price of all three of these necessities.

And what is the Biden Crime Family doing?

Well, they are doing all they can to reduce the supply of oil and natural gas in the United States.

Well, went to Sam’s club Friday to fill up Mrs. rktman’s car. Pumps were restricted to Sam’s club members only and they had ZERO 87 octane at $5.399/gal. They did have 91 octane at $5.669/gal. Since there were only about 2 gallons left in the tank her car got treated to a dose of 91. On the other hand, we took a road trip last week and burned through about $400 of gas in the truck but never found a lack of availabilty. Prices ranged from $4.99-5.39 for the trip.

Has anybody noticed a 'slight' increase on your natural gas rates this month? With any luck we should be at 2 bucks a therm by November.

April: .68 per therm
May: 1.11 per therm

Then there is a 10 cent delivery fee per therm plus tax on top of that.

That hair-sniffing creep is responsible for at least half of the price increase.

(Yes, I know, he’s not actually running the show, but in the spirit of The Buck Stops Here, I’m pointing at him anyway.)

It won’t save a damn thing. Poverty, even when artificially induced, comes with its own forms of pollution (subpar septic systems, for example).
