Beat me to it. The Catholic Church has indeed had a problem with sex abuse, but the problem in the public schools has received little attention. When it does, it is just focused on individual cases and never looks at the broader picture.
There was a study done several years ago that showed that public school employees (= teachers) are 100 times more likely to molest kids than a priest.
