Forget Voter ID, how about a federal license to vote? That’s what this is like.

Why would anyone be stupid enough to do that?

If by some miracle this bill were to become law, it will be slapped down by the USSC. The slap-down however, will take years. In the meantime the FedGov will have assessed millions in fees which will never be refunded and collected millions of names, folks that may one day be visited by armed FedGov employees demanding the weapon(s). Unfortunately not all of these citizens will have reported the loss of their weapon(s) during a boating accident.

There's already that de facto license in effect when one purchases a firearm from an FFL, viz. the 4473 form. DC can't accomplish anything with a pre-purchase "license" that isn't being accomplished with the 4473.

More stupid pimps and whores masquerading as politicians who are too incompetent and lazy to do anything but.

My thought is this is showboating by the Democrats.

They think this will shore up their base.

Fewer and fewer people are falling for this form of calling "wolf".

Excerpted from Wiki re the 10th Amendment...

In Printz v. United States (1997),[24] the Court ruled that part of the Brady Handgun Violence Prevention Act violated the Tenth Amendment. The act required state and local law enforcement officials to conduct background checks on people attempting to purchase handguns. Justice Antonin Scalia, writing for the majority, applied New York v. United States to show that the act violated the Tenth Amendment. Since the act "forced participation of the State's executive in the actual administration of a federal program", it was unconstitutional.

Easy breezy, we got precedent.

Must register all firearms so we know where to come and confiscate them.

The whole purpose of a member of the “Democratic” party of this era’s progressive socialists is to tear down the Constitution rule of government. Has been ever since Franklin Roosevelt’s control of the association, more and more.

A lot of states are going to fight this.

I sure hope the dem reps from gun friendly states oppose this unconstitutional move.

I don’t see NH complying either.

Sununu may be a RINO in some aspects, but he’s been a staunch defender of gun rights.

...even a lot of democrats wouldn’t support that.

True this, and if not, their constituents should know their opinion of the bill.

All congresspersons, especially those who face re-election this year, should be asked state whether or not (yes or no) they support the bill, and give a detailed reasoning as to why their response.

The anti-2A Mark Kelley might be someone to ask for starters.

The Demonicrats in the Senate (along with RINOcrats) continue to give aid and comfort to the enemies of the United States.

It is NOT about “passing”, it is about making a “record” of the people that vote against it for when their election comes around...
