I worked for Mayo Scottsdale for 7 years. I quit before I was fired in 2003. I loved my job there as a medical transcriptionist. I was among the first group to be allowed to totally telecommute as our department swelled from 40 transcriptionists to over 120 in 5 years.

One day, I looked around and realized I was surrounded by a sea of newbies as everyone above me had slowly quit or been terminated. That’s also when they started scrutinizing every move I made, looking for a fireable offense, mainly because I was at the top of the pay scale.

When my BP shot to 200/100 mmHg is when I decided the job wasn’t worth it. Mayo Clinic can ESAD as far as I’m concerned.
