ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WHEC) — Gov. Kathy Hochul Wednesday unveiled a package of several new gun control executive orders and bills that she says is a direct response to the mass shooting that happened in a Buffalo Tops on Saturday.
One of her executive orders signed Wednesday will require State Police to file for an Extreme Risk Protection Order under New York State's Red Flag Law whenever they have probable cause to believe that an individual is a threat to themselves or others.
Hochul is also pushing for the Legislature to pass a bill that would require semiautomatic pistols manufactured or delivered to licensed dealers in New York to be microstamping-enabled. Microstamping marks bullets and cartridge cases with a unique fingerprint each time a gun is shot so that when they are recovered, police can link them to a specific gun, a bill that would widen the legal definition of a firearm to close what she called the "other gun" loophole, and a bill that would require all law enforcement agencies to report the recovery of any crime gun within 24 hours.

The Fredo brothers (cuomo) should be first.
Extreme Risk Protection Order pulled directly out of LEO’s Ass!
Gestapo tactics indeed.
No bail or plea bargains for violent felons, and maximum prison terms, would save more lives, but would be denounced as racist.
I am not in favor of Red Flag laws but there was nothing preventing them from issuing a Protection Order on the Buffalo shooter under NY’s existing RF law.
As for the micro-stamping, I think when they saw this guy drop his gun they knew it was the gun he used in the shooting. That might be more than Hochul can grasp though.
Police can just take your gun whenever they feel you’re a threat.
Followed immediately by police can take a city blocks guns because of the crime in that area…
Followed by - we’ll just take your guns.
microstamping-enabled
/\
No such thing even exists.
Like requiring
rainbow unicorn farts.
.Delusion writ large.
Past time for Kimber firearms to leave New York.
Are there any others left in NY?
If they have actual probable cause, they can go ahead and arrest the individual.
Doing stuff to guns won’t prevent murders. The problem is individuals whose “value system “ allows them to shoot up innocent people.
The left is destroying the parent-child relationship, which has existed since the first humans, and by which values are passed on.
The left is replacing the family with public schools, which were set up to destroy those values
New York doesn't even hold onto the criminals they know committed crimes with a firearm. This is just to pretend they'll stop crimes.
Kimber is moving to Huntsville AL.
Henry is the lone holdout as far as I know.
That's the point - to ban sales on new firearms and keep them out of the hands of law abiding citizens.
I wish all gun manufacturers took the stance of Bravo Company USA’s (from their website):
“The people at Bravo Company USA and BCM support responsible civilians having access to the same tools of Law Enforcement to effect the same ends. Securing and defending ourselves, our loved ones and innocent people if the situation arises. As such Bravo Company’s policy is that law enforcement officials and departments will be restricted to the same type of products available to responsible private individuals of that same city or state.”
So a criminal with no rights to guns can get his rights to the guns he illegally has taken away.
I don’t see this happening . What I do see is guns taken away from law abiding conservatives for minor interactions with law enforcement persons.
I’m not following how that is either relevant to what I posted or relevant to the Buffalo shooter’s situation.
Perhaps you could elaborate a bit?
They all need to stop providing firearms and ammo to these government entities who do this kind of thing.
Hochul should look to the futility of Maryland's law as a guide, but being the hosebag tyrant she is, she will not let a crisis go to waste.
Don't even get me started about "red flag" laws. It's a middle finger to the 5th Amendment's due process clause, but what do you expect from "progressives".
I am beyond trying to coexist with these people.
I am beyond that too. It’s pointless to even try.
I may be wrong but I think Kalifornia, or some municipality in Kali, tried a micro-stamping law. If so I’m sure it failed too. There are no firearms that have it.
