Trump-Backed Ted Budd Beats Out Establishment Pick Pat McCrory, 12 Others In North Carolina Senate Primary

Former President Trump-backed Republican Ted Budd beat out former North Carolina Gov. Pat McCrory in the state’s GOP primaries on Tuesday night.

Former President Donald Trump-backed Republican Ted Budd beat out former North Carolina Gov. Pat McCrory in the state’s GOP primaries on Tuesday night.

Corporate media such as The New York Times snubbed Budd, a U.S. representative, for currying Trump and other key GOP politicians’ favor, skipping all four Republican primary debates, pushing for election integrity, and catching the eye of “major outside spending” groups that poured millions into boosting the Trump pick.

Despite criticism, Budd, who campaigned on fighting the ideological left, overwhelmingly won the state on Tuesday night and will face Democrat Cheri Beasley, the former state Supreme Court chief justice who beat out 10 others in the primary, in the November midterms.

McCrory, Budd’s closest competitor in the primary race, only won the county around Charlottesville, which he served as mayor of from 1995 to 2009.

Tuesday was not McCrory’s first election hit. He previously lost two statewide elections including in 2016 when he failed to keep his spot in the governor’s mansion even though Trump swept the historically red state.

McCrory, who once claimed that endorsements were designed for weak candidates, refused to endorse Budd on Tuesday night after he lost and claimed he needs “assurances from current leaders in my state party that I haven’t been canceled” as a Republican in the state.

“Six years ago, the left said I was a radical, right-wing extremist and now this year I’m called by my own party a liberal RINO,”

McCrory, however, admitted that Trump’s condemnation of his “Republican In Name Only” ways contributed significantly to his downfall in the primary race.

“There’s no doubt that when President Trump during our state Republican convention with me in the audience said the following, that I don’t represent our values. I remember sitting at the table all like, ‘Boy, something has changed here.’ And maybe that’s true, maybe I don’t represent President Trump’s values,” McCrory added.

“I’m old enough to remember when you, when a Republican like yourself can become the mayor of Charlotte,” MSNBC’s Chuck Todd replied later in the segment.

Not only did the GOP establishment lose steam in the North Carolina primaries, but so did the progressive Squad. Nida Allam, who was endorsed by Sen. Bernie Sanders, Sen. Elizabeth Warren, and Squad member Rep. Primala Jayapal, Rep. Ilhan Omar, Rep. Rashida Tlaib, lost her primary representative race to Democrat state Sen. Valerie Foushee.

The Bush League takes a hit, that will somewhat offset the re-election last time of their Amnesty Senator Tillis who is teaming up with Cornyn and Grahamnesty to bet their Amnesty Gang back together.

Ok, this is not about NC, but I just saw it and want to get people's attention:

In the PA Senate race, Kathy Barnette's total has GONE DOWN.

With 96% of the vote counted, she had 326,282 votes according to https://www.nbcnews.com/politics/2022-primary-elections/pennsylvania-senate-results

With 99% of the vote counted, she is now at 324,001 votes according to https://www.abc27.com/election/pa-election-results-pa-senate-race-pa-governor-race-local-election-results/

How does this happen?

Looks familiar with what happened to Trump in 2020.

I assume that McConnell and Burr backed McCrory, which is by itself a sufficient reason to back someone else. Is there anything specifically about McCrory that makes him a RINO beyond the establishment backing him?

What was Budd’s reason for skipping the debates? I’m guessing he thought the people asking the questions were against him.

Little question, this will result in something akin to a 3 way conversation with at least 5 people (outcome based math) between

- “Big Bertha the mutha erfa”,
- Kemp,
- Dominion CEO Soros,
- a Mittens rep from Hart Intercivic,
- and plausibly Pelosi’s handler Alexander Soros from Pelosi’s office

They “gotta” make sure all the union ballot dumping and AFL-CIO manned ballot tabulation centers will be in place again, and Dominion, Hart Intercivic, and ES&S internet connected GUI’s are ready and “calibrated”, so to “validate” Smartmatic’s SMOTE-B digital election steal/fraud.

I saw this happen to Oz last night too. I wish someone would explain this phenomenon because it makes me suspect.

I wonder that too. No question is bad if answered properly.

He didn’t debate McCrory because he was in the lead and it would have only hurt him.
