Thanks for your encouraging reply. Your comment calls up another academic memory; this time from an on-line class in formal logic. The instructor took great care to ensure the student understood that a valid formal logic answer could still produce an absurd claim. Say…”All cats have five wheels and smell green.” Formal logic analysis is performed in an artificial arena solely created by the various statements being analyzed. An analytical conclusion can only be considered “sound” if it corresponds with the real world.

The claim that “Men can menstruate, can get pregnant, and give birth” begins with the conflation of gender identity (a cultural construct) and sex (a biological fact). If you accept that claim of interchangeability, the subsequent claims, no matter how absurd, flow logically from it.

Another bit of insight; this time from the Arabs:

One day, a man went to his neighbor and said ‘I have relatives coming for a big feast and I do not have a pot large enough to cook all the food. May I borrow a pot from you to do this?’

The neighbor agreed and lent a large pot to the man.

The feast was given and the next day, the man returned it with a smile. As he handed it to the man, a small noise came from inside the pot. When the neighbor opened the lid, he found a small pot inside. He asked the man about it.

“Oh, it was pregnant and it had a baby while it was with me. “

They both laughed and returned to their daily business.

Sometime later, the man again approached his neighbor and asked to borrow the pot . The neighbor was delighted to lend the pot again and chuckled about what kind of surprise might occur when the man brought it back.

The feast was held but the pot was not returned the next day. The neighbor waited a day or two then began to really wonder why the pot was not being returned. After waiting a few more days, the neighbor went to the man and asked why the pot had not been returned.

The man looked very sad and with downcast eyes, he said:

“I cannot return it. The pot became very sick and died. I buried it. I didn’t have the heart to come and tell you.“

If you accept an absurdity when it favors you, you are exposing yourself to having to accept further absurdities even if they damage you.

Let me add that the “They have no honor” statement is meant to apply only to the fanatic true believers who will do anything, say anything, etc. in furtherance of their agenda.

My two adult daughters are moderate liberals. One works in fashion, the other in on-line journalism. They are both far enough removed from college that normal life has scuffed their hulls a bit with positive and negative experiences. And that means they’ve realized not all appeals for sympathy/support have merit. Both have expressed concern over the perniciousness of the gay/trans mafia in their fields. Being a conservative, occasionally we rub up against each other but we can speak to one another with civility and the discussion remaining firmly grounded in reality.

It would seem that if men can get pregnant, the equal protection argument goes out the window completely.

My opinion is that we are simply seeing the modern reenactment of everything from the Adam and Eve to Prometheus, that is, human beings who want to have power over good and evil and redefine themselves. That’s essentially what Marxism is: a challenge to created nature and thus to natural law, replacing it with positive law, where the state is all.
