I guess it did come across that way, but that’s what Russia has been saying the whole time - Mercenaries-dead, Ukrainian soldiers-treated as POWs, Azovs-dealt with (no one knows exactly how), and high-value prisoners-speculation on my part, but people like that are typically traded for something of value.
