Barnette was pushed by anyone in the establishment to splinter any vote, this argument is absolute crap.
The GOP of PA was happy to have either OZ or MCCormick… some organized “splinter” strategy is silly.
Barnettes rise was purely from the fact she offered a conservative alternative to the moderate lane OZ and MCCormick were both offering, and a very significant part of the electorate wasn’t buying.
Now the GOP goes forward with one of two terrible choices….
Only thr biggest of red waves will care either of these guys across the finish line this fall… and if they win PA gets saddled with another establishment Democrat light to betray the state for a decade or more.
No red wave was going to carry Barnette across the finish line. She had 'disaster in November' written all over her.
Even if Oz/McCormick end up losing to John Fetterman, I feel at least it's now going to be a competitive race, one Democrats will have to spend millions of dollars and lots of resources to win, whereas Barnette would have been like Alan Keyes against Barack Obama in 2004, where it was such a lay-up the Democrats pulled out of the race and focused those resources on closer races in other states.

I think fetterman beats Oz for sure.
In the general election, Oz is going to need 65% of the independent vote. I predict at least 20% of Republican voters will split their ticket and vote for Fetterman (that’s what me and my family are doing).
First question that Fetterman should ask Oz during the debates: Will you ever vote for Sharia Law in the USA?
Oz likes to claim Islamophobia victim status, then make him defend the Koran. NO way in hell will I vote for that greasy slimeball. Half of his vote came from the Trump endorsement. He is a terrible candidate.
