More Big Government Waste, clearly the government has way too much money and they are spending it in all the wrong places.

I wondered what “advances” meant. The article answers the question:

“This means that the Senate can begin debate on the Ukraine aid package.”

So now both sides can start giving and exposing sound bites. This is nowhere near over.

I get the political arguments about this $40 billion.

But I think the arguments are all political and not material.

The $40 billion is .008% of the massive federal budget.

And even if it were .8%, I did not know the U.S. had beccome a nation that cannot walk and chew gum at the same time.

So not allowcating the $40 billion will do absolutely zero to get baby formula on the store shelves, end the border crisis which is a policy problem and not a spending problem, stem inflation, boost domestic energy output, or solve any otber domestic crisis Biden has created. But it makes political theater leading to the mid terms. I get that.

If someone really wanted to oppose the $40 billion because they would like other things to be given priorties they have not been given, then the way to do that would be to tie the $40 billion allocation to amendments that require administration policy changes on those other priorities.

But instead we have political posturing.
