Oz is no conservative. I don’t know anything about McCormick and Barnette seems like a gimmick. I think the best one would have been Carla Sands, but she’s going home. I think McC is gonna squeak this out.
It’s not over - but it’s pretty clear the smear campaign against Barnette benefited McCormick the most - these voters had already decided to vote against Oz, so they were considering Barnette - then jumped over to McCormick after the very well organized smear campaign by Oz supporters saying she supported BLM, defunding police, etc. All lies - but spread like wildfire by Oz’s allies. This blunted Barnette, and pushed a significant number of votes into McCormick’s column that were never going to vote for Oz. Looks like Oz may have prevailed easily but for this smear campaign against Barnette - shot themselves in the foot.
Still enough vote out for Oz to pull it off.
