US spy chiefs see China as vanguard of anti-West crusade

More and more the United States views Russia’s war on Ukraine as a pivotal episode in a global contest that pits Washington not only against Moscow but against a group of active adversaries – with China at the group’s core.

At a briefing convened by the US Senate’s Armed Services Committee last week, China shared top billing with Russia and the conflict in Ukraine as a talking point. In particular, attention centered on China’s military plans vis-a-vis a possible takeover of Taiwan.

The two top intelligence agency heads – civilian and military – put China atop a list of four countries they viewed as effectively joined in an anti-Western crusade. China was followed by Russia, Iran and North Korea.

“All four governments have demonstrated the capacity and intend to promote their interests … that cut against US and allied interests,” Avril Haines, who oversees US intelligence agencies in President Joe Biden’s administration, said.

Lieutenant General Scott Berrier, director of the Pentagon’s Defense Intelligence Agency, highlighted threats that he said emanated from each country: China’s threats against Taiwan, Russia’s invasion of Ukraine, Iran’s proxy warfare in the Middle East and North Korea’s presumed dangers to the Western Pacific and western American mainland.

In the US view, an implicit duel – pitting China, Russia, Iran and North Korea against the US, NATO, the European Union and Japan – has the makings of global warfare.

Major democratic countries have yet to take sides. Haines singled out India, Indonesia, Nigeria, South Africa and some unnamed “Global South” countries as laggards.

“Much of the world is still not with us,” said Berrier. “They may not be with Russia, but they are not subscribing to our call for a global coalition of democracies.”

We maneuvered ourselves into this brilliantly. The coalition against us is because we [the globalist war mongers in the US and NATO] created ourselves as the universal enemy - you know - like Hilter and Tojo in WWII. When you make the whole world hate you funny thing is they all get together and hate you together. Maybe if we fixed our own country and stopped trying to make a fortune going in and "fixing" everything else we would all get along a lot better. And we wouldn't be facing a unified enemy all unified in their hatred because we are the single biggest problem the rest of the world faces.

If we can see that our ability to tax the rest of the world by printing the world's reserve currency is paying for a lot of idiocy and graft and corruption in the US and our globalization efforts, the rest of the world can figure it out too.

We are in a place a lot of folks have told us never to be and we did it deliberately. I don't know how to get out of it.

Can we give them a cool moniker like CRINK?

While the free-traitor corporatists and demoncraps have been water carrying coolies for the chicoms since GHWB and doubled down even after tiannamen square, while Real Americans have known china was our real enemy and was waging all out economic warfare in preparation for the real thing.

China does not need to defeat us in a war. They just have to bribe our politicians.

The next decade, assuming we survive, will be China’s subsidized client state proxy v NATO (currently costing the US taxpayer $20B per month). What the US will have pi$$ed away in Ukraine would have launched two new Ford class aircraft carrier entire battle groups. Do we have anti tank munitions left? Is DC really this stupid or merely following orders?

I see the democrat party as the vanguard of the anti-west crusade but I was never a spy chief so what do I know.

Only way is change in culture in the USA. That’s the hard battle but it is simply the only way.

Yes, we created this hate by giving a trillion dollars in aid to China, and allowing them to steal another trillion dollars in intellectual property rights.

We created this hate by encouraging Russia to become capitalist instead of Soviet, and allowing so many Russians to emigrate to the United States.

We created this hate by encouraging the Ayatollahs to take over Iran, rather than back up our friend the Shaw. Thank you Jimmy Carter.

Idiots. Mystified as to why India, Nigeria, Indonesia etc haven’t junked to join morally and financially broke DC and London’s war. And the dim bulb is further shocked that Russia and China are closer, after a decade of pushing Russia closer to China.

Why can't the Russians see it. We have no beef with the Russian PEOPLE. Our beef is with that thug Putin who is so paranoid that he thought the Eastward march of NATO and the attempt to take over Ukraine and turn it into our kind of globalist corruptocracy was a threat to Russian national security. All they had to do was become Democratic in our image, and elect a leader suitable to our taste [10% to the big guy] sell out their best assets at bargain basement prices to the strong financial hands in the West who would have run them, and they would have had a nice life.

It's unfathomable. Culture and nationality are dead ideas. Dead, dead, dead.

For a look back at the Obama Administration’ misguided assumptions that China could be accommodated and shaped into a responsible world player, see this report from 2011:

The Evolving Role of China in International Institutions

We had it so wrong and now the question is what can be done now?
