Breitbart ^ | 05/14/2022 | BREITBART LONDON

(AFP) — Finland on Saturday sought to allay Moscow’s fears about its bid to join NATO, as fierce fighting raged in Ukraine’s east, slowing down a hoped-for Russian advance.

Wives and parents of Ukrainian fighters trapped in the bowels of a besieged steel plant in the country’s south meanwhile made a desperate appeal to China to help secure their release.

I would think cutting off the electricity would hurt Russia more than Finland. Finland gets only about 10% of its electricity fl from Russia and can probably replace that pretty easily. Russia needs the foreign currency.

The answer across the board is build nuclear power plants. The fuel for which can be recycled, except the anti-nuclear crowd made that impossible and Jimmy Carter stopped the building of a plant that could have refueled the world because it endangered the snail darter. (But we know now that the Greenies had a half dozen other “endangered” species ready to go if that suit failed.)

China? Really? It would be more useful to call NATO and Brussels

Not really. China is a kind of ally of Putin and a good deal less offensive to them than having NATO call.

Ah yes, The Clinch River Breeder Reactor.

Wasn’t it 75% complete or something?

“Finland gets only about 10% of its electricity fl from Russia and can probably replace that pretty easily.”

Russia should just shut it off and find out who has the good cards and who is bluffing.

1) The phrasing is awkward.
“Wives and parents of Ukrainian fighters trapped in the bowels of a besieged steel plant in the country’s south meanwhile made a desperate appeal to China to help secure their release.”

The wives and parents are not trapped there.

The fighters can be released by killing their officers who will kill them if they try to surrender — and then proceed to surrender. Surrendering troops are not good PR, which is why Ukraine (and Hitler for the 6th German Army at Stalingrad) refuses them permission to surrender. (Eventually the Germans had no ammo and were taken prisoner regardless of overt surrender.)

2) Russia has a central bank, just like the Fed, ECB, PBOC, BOJ. They can create whatever money from thin air they might want or need. They don’t need much. They have civilization’s lifeblood, oil. And they have fertilizer to grow food. What they won’t have is iPhones, and it’s highly likely this will not cause any hospitalizations.

3) Entering NATO requires unanimous approval of NATO members. Turkey has already said they oppose it. It will cost the ECB and Fed a lot of printing to buy Turkey’s vote.

Russia needs the foreign currency.

Which “foreign currency” is that?

The patented Russian approach to human relations. Reflexive hostility to everyone and everything. No wonder you are all hopeless alcoholics.

I never touch alcohol.

I never get bluffed by propaganda and lies.

All the cards must be placed face up on the table.

“Wasn’t it 75% complete or something?”

don’t know how close it was, but it was a huge structure. I have a friend who was on the finance and planning of the “Super Collider.” He said it cost more to stop building than it would have cost to finish it. He was in a position to know.

And Netflix. They don't have Netflix.

Which “foreign currency” is that?

The foreign currency that Europe and the United States will freeze and steal AFTER they get the physical goods from Russia.

I'm going to start doing that.

Go to the grocery store, charge my groceries, then call the credit card company to cancel the charge, after I get home with my provisions.

TOTALLY legit.

Also Siemens PLCs and Zeiss coordinate measuring machines and (a bunch) 5-axis milling machines, and, heck, every IC component in existence, and ...
Pretty much everything in the world of modern engineering.

LOL!!! The Globalists running this anti-Putin crusade will NEVER allow any more nukes to be built. They won’t even permit Germany to stop its shutdown of its last 3 reactors, reactors, which by they way, have a PERFECT safety record.

Maybe if they let the ‘wives and parents’ leave, it would help.

You certainly do, in Russia.

Leave. Emigrate. Go to the West. Russians tend to do well abroad.
