John Fetterman is redefining how swing-state Democrats campaign

(snip)

His dominance may seem surprising. But behind it is his success in addressing two pressing problems Democrats have struggled with nationally. That their primary voters tend to favor progressive policies more than general election voters, and their party seems unable to clearly define what it believes and who it’s for: It wants to advance progressive ideas without being branded as leftist, and to strike a balance between elite priorities and blue-collar concerns.

The quirks of his candidacy mean that Fetterman is able to find a balance between extremes. A longtime politician, he’s promoted progressive causes in the state while also bending to practical, populist concerns. And he’s done much of that while wearing Carhartt hoodies and basketball shorts.

(snip)

He’s not as left-leaning as his closest ideological rival, Malcolm Kenyatta, the Black, gay state representative from North Philadelphia, or an avowed centrist, like Lamb, the DC-born, retired Marine. But the blue-collar progressivism Fetterman represents strings together different elements: old-school centrist concerns for working-class people — often focused on the white working class — and the activist-minded priorities of a younger, more diverse electorate.

Look at the picture in the article. This is a 52-year-old guy who looks like he's headed for a metal-head concert or a biker gathering. And I don't mean those things in a bad way. This is a person who looks like a guy down the street. People are comfortable with him.

He plays well in PA, and he's going to be extremely difficult to beat in November.

The GOP better be ready. This is going to be tough.

Yep. He'll vote to the left of Bernie Sanders but he looks like a MAGA populist and he's going to use this to his advantage.

I'm not at all comfortable with this PA senate race.

Former wrestler, Mayor of a crappy and crime ridden steel town whose only new business is a pot farm. Once confronted a jogging black guy with a shotgun because he looked like a criminal. He has the IQ of a moron and is a perfect fit for the new democratic party.

What fakery and chicanery. Yeah right, working class guy; as they send your jobs to china and baby formula to illegal aliens.

Look at the picture again. Nothing but white female Karens, which is what they are all about.

Yep. You nailed it.

I’m here in PA and this guy plays super well. He does. He looks like the average guy here in Pennsyltucky. That works a lot better than how the slicksters play here.

The guy is a very serious threat to win the race. Even in a red wave year.

The jogging thing could be his downfall. I hope so, anyways.

The guy is huge (6’ 7”), has charisma and looks like a PA “dude bro”. He has the anti-DC feel. He’s also the sitting Lt Gov.

I don’t like him, but he’s going to be hard to beat.

Yes, but those Karens could put him over the top.

That’s the problem.

And they like him, or are at least comfortable with him.

If we’re getting a Democrat, Lamb would be better.

The winning formula for dim is:

Lie cheat and lie some more.
Very hard to beat a liar and a cheat..especially if you are honest.

Going from lies and hate against Kathy Barnette to posting puff pieces about Nazi-Boy. Are you sure you’re on the right site, Oz-Bot?

Isn’t it interesting how we’re always told that, in a closely divided state like PA, a candidate must run to the center in order to maximize his or her appeal?

At least we’re told that CONSERVATIVE candidates have to do that. Yet here we see how a Democrat candidate can be a radical leftist — not running anywhere NEAR the center — and can somehow do so without being called “unelectable”, in fact he’s praised for it.

Here’s a leftist trust fund baby from Central PA, posing as a working class hero because he was once Mayor of Monkeytown. He’s got the dirtbag doper vote sewed up, as well as all the votes from the swooning Karens (sorry Oz, those voters are spoken for already) and full support of the media controllers. not to mention RINOs.

He’s eminently beatable despite all your hand wringing and pearl clutching, but the one who can do it won’t be found among the mushy moderates.

Fetterman is crushing Lamb.

To me, that’s a sign of how strong Fetterman is. Lamb is an ok, solid, milquetoast Dem for PA. And he’s get bulldozed by Fetterman.

When Bernie Sanders said “I come from the working class,” on national TV, I don’t remember one noticeable conservative who was willing to point out that Sanders never had a job until he was elected mayor of Burlington, Vermont. Working class, indeed, who never worked for anything except to spread Marxism.

This clown Fetterman needs to be defeated and this is the best year to do it. If Barnette does get the nod, I hope Trump will fight for her just the same as if Oz got it.

All you Penners worried about Fetterman are forgetting about Joe Biden.

It will require a veeerrrry popular guy to overcome a veerrry strong straight R ballot.

Fetterman has led some kind of push to clean up the criminal records of people taken into the toils of an overreaching criminal justice system. So, he appeals to the lower classes, and to some males, which is unusual for a Dem. That said, he does look like a freak. I don't know how it all plays out, and of course, there is the corruption of the Dem big city machines.

I hope so, too.

If Barnette wins the primary, heck if Bushie McCormick wins the primary, I’ll fight like heck to get the Republican elected.

We need the seat. And it would be a joy to send Fetterman packing.

He does hit the “alternative grunge male” demographic, which is big here in PA.

But women also seem to like him. If they didn’t, he wouldn’t be whipping Lamb’s and Kenyatta’s behinds in the primary polls.
