...got gift boxes the following week that were filled with CNN+ swag... Why not? Clearly no one else wants anything to do with CNN+.

Reminds me of when I was working remote for a bank and went through a grueling 3 month period of work. Morale was at rock bottom, people were quitting and the dept. heads held a conference call to thank us and said the bank was sending us a gift for our hard work via overnight fed ex.
The gift arrives the next day. A cheezy sports water bottle branded with the bank logo.

Did they get a CNN+ fishing pole?

While admittedly I’m not inclined to sympathize with anyone working for CNN, Even I have to acknowledge that this is cruel.

My Doc is telling me I'm gonna have to cut back on the Schadenfreude. Including a welcome note with the severance package was a nice touch. It's like, "We care so much about you we're sending you a box of cheap crap we can't even give away otherwise."
“This is an incredible time to be part of CNN,” one note said. “Build relationships and take time to connect with colleagues and learn so that you make the most of your time here.”
Sure, some of them may know where you can find work. Here's a beer koozie, best of luck. Dang it, maybe the Doc is right, my sides are starting to hurt.

An Autographed framable picture of Chris Wallace would have been sweet.
