Lets do some MSM math
150,000 Russian invasion force
25,000 dead
75,000 wounded (using standard 3:1 ratio)
that means Russia only has 50,000 troops remaining in the field.
Meanwhile, if you believe MSM, Ukraine had active army of 250,000-300,000, and has called up reserves of up to 500,000
Oh, and they are being giving $40 billion in aid and arms by USA and NATO
And yet somehow, Russia is still gaining territory. Hmmmm.
Please see the videos linked at 6 and 8.
Daily Mail might consider publishing a story with a different spin once in awhile, just to maintain credibility.
Overall losing territory at the moment actually. A lot of land has been reoccupied by Ukraine on the Kharkiv front, right up to the Donets and in many places to the international border. There was even, apparently, a Ukrainian recce over the Russian border towards the nearest Russian railhead.
Anyway, the Russians too have been getting reinforcements. More of their active army has been moved to Ukraine, and there is a trickle of individual replacements reinforcing decimated units. And the Russians have greatly reduced their frontage.
Its an artillery war - best arty wins. Many UA soldiers have not fired their rifles in weeks.
Many put the ESTIMATED numbers of Orc troops at the start at 200,000-250,000. You cannot get a clear number to troops by reading off Orc unit designations, because they did not send in whole units to begin with.
So any attempt to calculate remaining troops is not going to be close to correct. Many military people also use a 2:1 ratio instead of the 3:1
The only way to see this WWII style with WWI bits is to look at it as it is, rather than try to calculate numbers and draw conclusions.
There are small gains by both sides as of yesterday, but the lines are essentially static, no changes.
Problems with your logic:
Russia’s initial invasion force was 230,000.
The initial invading force has been supplemented.
Russia has already lost a shitload of territory after their initial deep penetrations into Ukraine.
Has anyone heard information on how many additional troops besides the initial invasion force Russia has sent to Ukraine? What territory has Russia gained recently? Mariupol is still holding out, Odessa has not been taken, Ukranians have advanced to the Russian border below Ukraine’s second largest city. Gaining???
