To this day, I question why Musk committed $1 billion to the deal that can be lost if he backs out. There was a feeling someone was going to put him into a position of forfeiting the money.

Well, if Musk is really a white hat, maybe he figures outting Twitter would be worth it and, what the heck, it’s not like he can take it with him.

I would be very surprised if the deal did not provide for an escape path for Musk if the underlying accounting were false. Even more improbable if the underlying accounting were fraudulent.

I hope he walks and saves his billion dollars to apply his billions as well as his remarkable talents to better advantage in an allied medium that does not compete with Trump.Let Twitter wither.

Sign a deal which is basically a $1B option to buy Twitter for $55B. Use the access you gain to Twitter’s books to reveal said books are cooked, and tank Twitter’s stock price. Decline to exercise your option to buy Twitter for $55B. Based new, (more) honest stock price, buy Twitter for $25-30B.
