"Truth is that I remember mom putting whole milk in a baby bottle and warming it up a bit... back in the 50s & 60s"

Me, too. Get this from Wiki --> "The FDA defines infant formula as 'a food which purports to be or is represented for special dietary use solely as a food for infants by reason of its simulation of human milk or its suitability as a complete or partial substitute for human milk.' ... The most commonly used infant formulas contain purified cow's milk whey and casein as a protein source, a blend of vegetable oils as a fat source, lactose as a carbohydrate source, a vitamin-mineral mix, and other ingredients depending on the manufacturer."

So we have mass hysteria that a product that SIMULATES mother's milk is in short supply. And that simulated product uses COW's MILK components.

That powder stuff is all about the convenience (for some). Sure it has some added minerals and vitamins but it doesn’t compare to stuff momma makes.

Thank God my wife had good working boobs and we are fortunate enough she was able to stay home with the kids and provide on demand. I have a friend who’s wife didn’t have working boobs so they had to rely on the formula. I couldn’t imagine dealing with this disaster going on.
