Once the web version is up and running, anybody will be able to join.
From what I have heard, Google has not yet approved the Android app for Truth Social.
most welcome, and as always feel free to post, i stole them anyway... 8^)
MFers. I thought Trump started with Apple to show how Twittered they are. Prime example here for Google. Oh, well. Guess I can discard idea of buying iPhone.
I just reread your post and saw you’re going to be Beta testing Truth Social web version. OMG! Such an honor! Fill us in on details, if you can.
Please forgive me oh GREAT ULTRA-MAGA KING ... GOD EMPEROR!
You of course can count on my vote.
That would allow anybody to sign up and start posting.
Though I've been on the iPhone app for a while now, I find it unsatisfactory due to the tiny keyboard I need to deal with. So it's very hard for me to type any substantive posts. Even when I used Twitter, I always used the desktop through a web browser. I think that is when the platform will truly come into it's own.
Apparently the Android app is ready to go but TS is still working out the details with Google on that. I would not be surprised if Google is throwing up roadblocks and I further would not be surprised to see Apple drop it from their App Store.
Which is why I'm glad the web interface is coming out.
Overall I like Truth Social a lot but there are still many features that need to get built out like direct messaging, custom lists, etc.
Just went over 2.75 million this morning and it's only available on Apple iPhone app right now.
2.75 million iPhone users? Have media stopped writing negative articles about Truth Social yet, now that they’ve shown people like it?
BTW, can you share anything interesting you learn about Truth Social web version from the Beta?
This is because the establishment desperately wants this endeavor to fail. So they are going to try and make everybody think it's "dead on arrival." Unfortunately many Freepers here play right into that narrative.
I have a window open in the beta web version right now.
It's bare bones (in terms of the features that Twitter has to offer) but new features are slowly getting added. One of my suggestions is to add a "follows back" indicator in your following list so that you can see who of the accounts you are following are returning the favor. You can do this manually now but you have to click into each profile, which can take quite some time if you are following a lot of people.
I'm also requesting a "lists" function so that you can group some of the people you are following into lists which can be used as curated feeds. For example, on Twitter, I followed a lot of meteorologists and when nasty weather was brewing, I could easily filter my feed to see only posts from them. Having this functionality will allow you to follow thousands of people but than group them together in lists so you don't miss anything important in your timeline.
Truth Social is very fast, either in mobile or the beta web version. I think they made the right decision by throttling the rollout. Putting everybody on at once would have likely bogged everything down. We should go over three million active users this coming week and once the web version is officially release, expect many millions to join all at once. That will be a real test of the infrastructure.
For those who deride TS as an "echo chamber", I am finding that absolutely not to be the case. Once you drill down on the Truths to see the interaction, there is some very spirited discussion going on. Especially on the Trump Truths. I've had to block a few users, only because they were utterly profane and nasty.
