The Russians were about to liberate some new wheels. Why steal washing machines when you can steal cars? These poor guys were witnesses. It looked like they let them go, then one of the Russians ordered the two that just released them to go back and shoot them.

Occam’s Razor, the Russian Army and its Soviet predecessors have a long history of poor field discipline, so this is more likely than a Ukrainian troops killing their own people.
