Agreed. Sadly, Free Republic has a more sizable than desired contingent of Putinistas who cloak their love for him in statements such as “It’s the US’s fault that Russia did this” or the good ‘ol “It’s not our fight”, the latter of which was mouthed by many pro-Nazi sympathizers in the US prior to WWII.
1) Russia has departments of people paid to influence westerners though social media.
2) Free Republic has accounts that haven’t been used for years because their originators have died or lost interest.
3) Lots of people use week passwords.
I hope at least some of these posters are not real Freepers. I hate to think there are so many conservatives swallowing the Russian line.
I get the idea of no American lives lost, and that the Europeans should be paying their fair share. To say nothing of the fact that Russia is kind of like a drunk with an AK47 staggering around, raging at everyone, not worthy of respect, deference or even life but still to be treated gingerly, until you can disarm and take them down. Plus the fact that I really doubt that the Ukranian government is any better than any other in that area, even if Zelensky has played to part of Leader better than anyone in my lifetime...
But the love for that Putin just because he is supposedly anti homosexual and pro ‘Christianity; is vile. So F-ing what, you know? Some of these Putinistas think throwing the words ‘Soros’, Globohomo’ and some deranged raving about ‘biolabs’ justifies kissing Russian ass when they are being an egregious bad guy.
