There was a time during the Cold War when we thought the same about at least part of the Western Hemisphere. But that ended four decades ago. Mexico gets to elect whomever they want, a d.so.does.the rest of the hemisphere - even if we don't like it.

The days of Marines installing puppet governments in Latin America have been over for a very long time, and we know it. it's about time the Russians figure out the same thing.

And I hope they have to drag each other back across the border. Then they can pay the bill for all the damage they caused. A decade or so of gas, oil, and mineral revenues should be about right.

And they can start by auctioning those yachts off to the highest bidders.

Well, one thing Russia will NOT have to worry about is people struggling to get inside their borders. Illegal immigration, the curse of the more prosperous country.
