A loss is a win? OK
“A loss is a win? OK”
What he means is, and this is the benefit of always primarying these people, that elected officials will be constantly looking over their shoulders when they vote. And they should be.
So even though Herbster lost in Nebraska, the winning Republican will have a hard time if he tries to move left, because the people will be watching, or to our benefit, will shore up his conservative credentials with conservative views and legislation.
Similar to in Georgia and Ohio. Governor’s DeWine and Kemp both got conservative legislation passed and signed because they were being primaried. Otherwise, they might have worked to kill it in the legislature or vetoed (as some Republican governors who thought they were safe did).
And people like Steele don’t like elected officials’ feet being kept to the fire.
