Former Attorney General Eric Holder says Americans' voting rights are in serious danger, and that partisan gerrymandering – especially as practiced by Republicans redrawing electoral maps to splinter Democratic bases of support – is part of the reason that our democracy is "in need of serious renovation."

Mr. Vote Fraud himself. I even remember when that reporter went and applied for his ballot and the lady handed it to him.
“Always accuse others of what you are doing.”
Gerrymandering is to protect incumbents of both parties.
Hey Holder. Shut the hell up, PUNK!
Yo Eric. When Americans want any crap out of you, we’ll unscrew your head and dip it out. You ain’t nothing anymore. Go back to gangbangin’ and let the adults work this out.
The ultimate psychological projection.
deflection is all they know
Hahaha... pure projection by one of the most corrupt arse wipes in the land.
So now the stage is set, the GOP can only win if they cheat
I second that emotion.
Great data
From what I can tell, this is a new (gerrymandered around Corpus Christi) district created after the 2010 reapportionment.
It went 61-38 for Obama in 2012, 59-37 for Clinton in 2016, but 51-47 for Biden in 2020. It might be trending Republican now.
The incumbent Vela has been steadily slipping since being elected: won 61.89% in 2012, 59.47 in 2014, 62.67 in 2016, 59.99 in 2018, and 55.44 in 2020.
Vela had the same opponent in 2016, 2018, and 2020 (Rey Gonzalez Jr) who stayed flat at 37.33, 40.01, and 41.85 respectively.
I'd say that toss-up might be generous towards Republicans, but this is a border district (Brownsville), so who knows how the immigration crisis is affecting the locals?
