Joe Biden’s Agencies Spike Housing Problems with More Refugees

But the 70,000 Afghans, plus the expected 100,000 Ukrainians — alongside the inflow of Haitians, Cubans, South Americans, Central Americans, and Africans — are also helping to worsen housing shortages. In turn, the shortages bid up housing costs for Americans — and generate extra wealth for landlords and real estate investors.

In many cases, several or many low-income migrants share an apartment or house, so allowing them to price middle-class American families out of good housing.

The vast majority of imported refugees — including Ukrainians and Afghans — get some funding from taxpayers.

But there is no direct aid for the huge inflow of migrants who are allowed across the southern border. Yet their inflow delivered more than 1 million people — or perhaps 200,000 households — in 2021, so helping to push up housing costs for many Americans.

A Spanish-speaking Mexican migrant, José Ricardo Ballona, told WPIN.org that redevelopment forced him to settle in Millersville, 15 miles north of Nashville, but his housing costs have doubled to $1,000 a month:

He moved to Millersville late last year, after his mobile home park on Dickerson Road in East Nashville was sold to a developer. “Fue algo muy difícil,” Ballona says. It was really difficult.

The transfers of wealth from Americans to imported refugees — and their U.S. landlords — are difficult to track. But in Redmond, Washington, the local government is so eager for new refugees that it is pushing American homeless people back onto the streets, according to an April report by King5.com:

King County is planning to use the Silver Cloud Inn in Redmond as temporary housing for those fleeing to the U.S.

This is jaw dropping. Who would have thunk this? They need to have people in Bureaucratic offices that study Logic 101 instead of Gender Ideology and Drag Queen Dancing.

Duh.

ALL immigration must stop for at least 50 years.

Every Freeper should insist that any office holder they intend to vote for tell them what is maximum population that we should have in the U.S., since we have currently ballooned from 150 Million in the 1950s to 350 Million today.

And those fantasyland numbers must be scarcely a twentieth of the actual swarm incoming.

Sunbelt Blues: The Failure of American Housing Hardcover – October 26, 2021

Today, a minimum-wage earner can afford a one-bedroom apartment in only 145 out of 3,143 counties in America. One of the very worst places in the United States to look for affordable housing is Osceola County, Florida.

Once the main approach to Disney World, where vacationers found lodging on their way to the Magic Kingdom, the fifteen-mile Route 192 corridor in Osceola has become a site of shocking contrasts. At one end, global investors snatch up foreclosed properties and park their capital in extravagant vacation homes for affluent visitors, eliminating the county’s affordable housing in the process. At the other, underpaid tourist industry workers, displaced families, and disabled and elderly people subsisting on government checks cram themselves into dilapidated, roach-infested motels, or move into tent camps in the woods.

I just started this book….Disney does not hire enough full time worker..a lot are part time….and they do not know when there working…thus they cannot get a second job very easily…

I hate immigrants. Hate ‘em all.

I couldn’t give a whisker if Jesus Christ showed up here I’d send him packing.

Jabbering Third World mutts and even Western and Eastern Europeans, I don’t care where they come from, I’m fed up with my country, my home , OUR country, OUR home being turned into some Motel 6 for the whole damn world.

When I was a teenager, I worked part-time at a store and they wanted open availability from the time the store opened to the time the store closed.

However, that, coupled with schedules being put together at the last minute each week, would have precluded providing part-time availability to another store.

So, I gave them open availability to start with, proved that I worked better than anyone else who worked there, and then limited my availability to opening shifts.

I enjoy reminding the bleeding heart democrats who complain about the homeless problem that every single refugee and illegal alien they are bringing in takes a house and resource for our American homeless.

100,000 Ukrainians — alongside the inflow of Haitians, Cubans, South Americans, Central Americans, and Africans
