I don’t know if Perdue is getting a little desperate or not, but I am reasonably sure that is the way government normally “does business”.
Paying top dollar for land owned by the right people is one way and a time honored way of rewarding your friends & supporters.
Giving tax incentives to very deep pocket ‘investors’ in private enterprise is another.
Yeah, it sounds to me like Perdue is clutching at straws.
It’s a lot for an unproven company that is tanking and may be unsuccessful.
If it was a more successful company like Toyota making a deal to make trucks in Texas, then that would be a different.
