Sen. John Boozman (R-Ark.) is looking to shut down Trump-inspired primary challengers as his under-the-radar race goes down to the wire.
Boozman snagged the former president’s backing in March 2021, got funding from his PAC and frequently highlights his support in ads. But that’s done little to stop his opponents from trying to link themselves to Trump, the party’s de facto leader.
The soft-spoken senator is hoping to cut his opponents — former NFL player Jake Bequette and gun rights activist Jan Morgan, the most well-known names among his challengers — off at the pass and avoid what could turn into a nasty runoff fight as outside money pours into the state.
“I think it probably would be heated because number one the entire strategy for the two challengers has to be negative, right, to tear him down, to try to claw their way into the runoff so that’s what they’ve been successful doing,” Robert Coon, an Arkansas GOP strategist, said about the dynamic of a potential runoff.

Let's hope he's forced into a runoff, and loses.
Primary is May 24th.

Boozman has been flooding my mailbox and I can’t even vote for him as Cotton is my Senator...Can’t stand the guy!
As a United States Senator, Boozman’s position is voted on every 6 years on a STATEWIDE level. The same as Senator Tom Cotton. And yes, you can vote for both since their terms in office is staggered.
You really should brush up on your voting rights as well as your candidates.
Are Arkansas Senators not state wide?
If Cotton is your senator, then so is Boozman. You can vote for each of them when they are up for re-election. Boozman this year, and Cotton in 2026.
Wow, just wow. Maybe we need a Freeper Nationalization Test? Lordy, the person has been here since 2009. Some folks obviously absorb knowledge like a piece of granite.
There really is a problem with Citizens who do not understand that it is their duty and responsibility to know about our basic rights and liberties. This is exactly the kind of thing that has given us this current situation.
I pray daily for the sake of our Republic.

What do you mean you can’t vote for him. It’s a statewide race. You can vote for one of the other Republicans running.
Or am I misunderstanding your comment?
It don’t work that way in michiganstan
I moved to Arkansas last year. I don’t know who to vote for
Any recommendations would be appreciated. I live in Bentonville.
Bequette would be better than Boozman.

Are we ready for this change? It may be overdue but we can only handle so much at once. A few at a time might be best-limited resources.
Lisa’s days are hopefully numbered. Grassly will not finish out his next term(like Ruth Ginsberg)-will not quit. Blunt’s successor is not as sure as Burr’s(NC).
Bozman’s challenger has a resume. College football, NFL, Army officer. Handsome fella too. Would he be selected by the state leadership before the 16th(?) amendment. I would just say that all incumbents should face a primary challenger. The Jake Bequette’s should be challenging the Kevin McCarthy’s in the house before moving on to the Senate. Think Sharon Angle. Arkansas may be ready for a change-it’s redder than NV.. I vividly remember Utah’s Bennett crying over his primary loss. So you tell me. Are we biting off more than we can chew?
There’s more. Failed in the NFL. At age 28 he joined the Army under Trump when Trump spoke of never-ending wars. Got out b4 Biden got ahold of him, formed a non-profit and quickly ran for a(too) high office. Army-John Kerry? NFL-Teresa Hienz? I dunno. If he fails then run for a house seat in ‘24. Counting on his good looks to win over the women?
No speeches on YouTube, just interviews. A wannabe Pat Tillman without the end result? More vetting needed. That’s why you start lower, especially when you’re young. I’d hate to think what the rats could do to him between the primary runoff and November. Why take a chance?
Think Lynn Swan running for Gov. against an experienced Ed Rendell.
