A British YouTuber has been arrested in Kazakhstan close to a rocket launch pad rented by Russia.
Benjamin Rich, who is known for visiting risky and remote destinations for his Bald and Bankrupt YouTube channel, has been arrested at the Baikonur Cosmodrome in Kazakhstan.
News of the arrest was announced by the head of Russia's space agency, Roscosmos.
In an online post Dmitry Rogozin wrote that Rich - who has 3.53 million followers - and a woman by the name of Alina Tseliupa were being held by one of the launch pads at Baikonur, which Russia rents from Kazakhstan.
Local authorities were determining "the exact level of participation in illegal activities" by the pair, said Rogozin, who posted photos of Rich's visa and Tseliupa's passport.

Bad timing on his part. I’d think someone who travels in sketchy places would have a better “spider sense”, but the lure of You Tube views makes people crazy.
I’ve watched a couple of his videos myself. I wonder if he realized that he needed permission to go there? Hopefully they let him go with an apology or something.

Last year he smuggled his girl friend’s cat out of Cuba by hiding it in his pants. He made a big joke out it afterwards. The Cubans might want some revenge now.
The girl friends cat he smuggled out of Cuba in his pants back to her home in Czechoslovakia. They made a big joke about it later. Since he is being held against his will, maybe the Cubans will want some revenge. Make a deal with the Russians and be put on a plane to Havana.
