Begala: People Should ‘Earn’ Debt Relief, Student Loan Forgiveness Will ‘Piss off the Working Class’
Breitbart ^ | 05/07/2022 | Ian hatchett

On Friday’s broadcast of HBO’s “Real Time,” Democratic strategist and CNN Contributor Paul Begala criticized proposals for President Joe Biden to forgive student loan debt by stating that “Democrats have gone from being the party of the factory floor to being the party of the faculty lounge.” And Democrats should “go back to their roots, which is, earn it.”

rats used to be the party of the factory worker, etc....or at least they pretended to be...

it will piss a lot of people off especially all those guys doing the hard work of America....

what is America going to do for the average non college young person besides sending them to die in war....those people need some debt forgiveness too...

how about just an all around $10,000 loan forgiveness either for a new car, a home, a student loan, or a boat?....everybody would get a slice.

seems to me the underclasses could stand help rather then all our fledging poly sci graduates.

Paul Begala is absolutely right on this issue.

Too many students have been riding the gravy train for decades.

It’s time for them to get out and push.

Student debt relief would be good if it is total andprefaced by abolition of the Department of Education without folding any of its functions into other departments and also by removing the Federal Government altogether from education regulation and funding of education at all levels other than schools on military bases far from schools.

The only “debt relief” I have EVER gotten is when I fully paid off the loan with my own hard-earned money.

Why should anybody expect any other sort of “relief”? What a crock of shee-it.

Go ahead and pay them off for her. I’m sure Biden will make sure you get a refund. That same refund we will get. Right?

“””rats used to be the party of the factory worker, etc....or at least they pretended to be...”””

-— so true. And now the Democrat Socialists are the party of the government worker (I hate saying government worker as so many of them are sluggards..

The bigger the government gets, the more voters for them.

What percent of these owners of student debt loans, actually attended college classes?

Editorial: How bad was the financial aid fraud at California’s community colleges? We still don’t know, and that’s a problem!

Forty-four schools haven’t reported monthly findings on fake students to the chancellor’s office.(Los Angeles Times)
BY THE TIMES EDITORIAL BOARD~ MARCH 29, 2022 5 AM PT

It’s not the fault of California’s community colleges that fraudsters filed thousands of fake student applications, many through bots, early during the pandemic. At least 65,000 of them included documents requesting financial aid as federal relief money flowed to colleges. At the time, campuses were closed, classes were held online, and administrators were hectically trying to keep the colleges operating.

Once the deception was uncovered last fall, the state’s 116 community colleges had an obligation to help document the extent of the problem. But 44 have failed to report their monthly findings on fake applications to the chancellor’s office of the California Community Colleges, including all nine of the campuses of the Los Angeles Community College District.

In addition, 15% of community colleges haven’t filed even their preliminary enrollment surveys for the current academic year.

He IS right. Some of us NEVER had any student loans.

We saved & paid as we went along-—while we worked real jobs.

And that’s how the National Service Corps will be born.
