Russian armed forces arrested Canadian General Trevor Kadier in Mariupol on the night of 2-3 May 2022. He is currently in Moscow awaiting to stand trial.

Russia could probably make some good coin selling video of Trevor leading some ILDU work gangs in extracting gold ore for Mother Russia.
No poutine for you, Trevor!
The official version, not that official means truthful necessarily.

Not a great outcome for the general
This is interesting because it quotes Ramzan Kadyrov

Ramzan Kadyrov:
We caught a big western fish trying to escape from the Azovstal factory and sent it to the great fisherman Vladimir Putin as a gift for Eid al-Fitr.
There are still a lot of western fish and with them 4 very large and very important “shark” class.
The timeline is not clear, but it appears he went to Ukraine before the Russian invasion began. See the link in post 1.
It’s A) political on B) Wikipedia, therefore it is the official Leftist version of the story.
Bioweapons labs? Western countries using the Ukes as proxies against Russia?
Nothing to see here. Move along.
So much of the fake news today is to distract from the very real story that our government developed a bioweapon and one way or another it was unleashed on us - and that same government expects us to trust them as they erode our liberties allegedly in the name of eradicating this bioweapon. They’ve been failing for two years, and still expect us to trust them - and not prosecute them.
The overreaction to the January 6 Massacre must be seen in this light; they are simply trying to get Americans to forget what they did to us with their bioweapon.
So if you didn’t read the links, this guy was going to be appointed head of Canadian Armed Forces in 2021, but sexual harassment allegations surfaced (from his training days apparently) and he was removed from the appointment, then chose in March to leave the military and to travel to Ukraine (in April) as a private citizen. How he got to Azovstal and what he might have been doing there are not even subjects of speculation in Canada at this point in time.
The official position of the government is that travel to the war zone to support Ukraine is a personal choice and not something explicitly banned even for members of the armed forces (although you would think if not a reserve member, then you would be required to clear the activity with your commanding officers). Travel there to support Russia, which is only a hypothetical, would be subject to legal sanctions if the Ukes didn’t get you first.
So this is a big deal, a soldier of that rank showing up at Azovstal raises the question of communication networks in existence and what was being communicated. Russian legal processes have a variety of weaknesses of course, so what we are told about that could be partly or totally bogus also.
For all we know, this guy showed up somewhere in Ukraine, made contact with other Canadian volunteer fighters, and they all got swept up into some operation in Mariupol. How long they were there and what they knew about circumstances there before arriving would be unknowns and might remain unknowns for quite a while. As such, this is a blank canvas on which any artist can paint any picture they want.
