You may not have been exposed yet, as you say, but it was certainly a surprise when I found out that I had been “recently infected” in late January. Glad you are well, and are comfortable but honestly, I will say, the masks do next to nothing against an aerosol virus. They never have. It’s a feel good thing that if it makes you more comfortable, go for it. Wearing one gives me headaches and a runny nose, so I’ve worn them as little as possible. To each his own, though. Stay well, FRiend!

I dissagree with you on masks.

The virus usually travels on moisture particles, and the masks block some of those particles. It’s not 100% protection. But the amount of the innoculum (initial dose) is highly correlated to the severity of the disease.

If masks only block 50% they are helping. If they only block 25% they are still helping.

And almost all of the nations premier medical institutes recommended masks.
