Monterey County, City and health leaders are pushing for those who are eligible to sign up. Later this month, community workers with the Vida Project will be getting out there and reaching out.
On a day like Cinco De Mayo, landmark legislation is expanding health care for undocumented people over the age of 50.

My ancient mother lived in California, worked and paid taxes for roughly 75 years. When she was in her final illness, I was told that her Social Security check made her ineligible for any help from Medical. Everyone was very nice and told me there was nothing they could do.
Someone who is in the country illegally is not only eligible for Medical benefits, but encouraged to claim the benefits...it just pisses me off.
Mexico now fastens its fangs on our neck even harder.
Recall we voted against this 60-40 back in 1994, and one federal judge said it was Un-Constitooshunamal. Because only de federal goberment can make de eemegration law!
