Texas power generators have to abide by EPA imposed limits for emissions of nitrogen oxide, carbon monoxide, sulfur dioxide, mercury along with release of wastewater. Those limits prevent them from generating the maximum amount of power that is possible.

Limits every other electrical grid has to abide by and amazingly enough none of them had their grids crashed by a little bad weather. Wouldn't it make sense for Texas to factor that into their planning when identifying power generating needs rather than just ignoring it?

The grid fiasco last year occurred because plant operators didn't perform first echelon maintenance before the freeze. They tried to save a few bucks by skipping winterization, and it bit us in the arse.

They all should have been fired for negligence.
