Boris Johnson betrayed everyone looking for freedom and prosperity that voted for him. He is a credentialed fool. The Conservative party is getting what it deserves by keeping him.

A Brit conservative is not the same thing as a US conservative. People voted for Boris in hopes of turning back the leftward movement of the UK. Not so much.
Farage isn’t even a Tory.
Just like Trump really isn’t a Republican.
Trump could easily win the nomination because all the other Republicans were weak, corrupt and statist. The UK parliamentary system presents a more formidable challenge to a Farage, especially since he left the Tories. He’d have to get back in their good graces with hat in hand, and even if they took him back, he’d have all the other Tory pygmies to compete with for power (assuming he even had the belly for it).
LTNs do NOT 'get rid of cars in towns'. They simply prevent commuting drivers from using quiet residential streets as 'rat runs' rather than using the main through routes . The streets are still accessible by car, but only from one end, so no resident is prevented from driving to/from their house if they so wish. The amount of bile generated by new LTNs is extraordinary - in fact they've been around for years without any problems, and are overwhelmingly supported by residents. The opposition comes from a noisy minority outraged by any minor obstacle to their personal convenience, whatever the public benefit.
