I've always asserted that the Communists were worse than the Nazis - Hitler and his gang were the 'wolf', and Stalin and his boys were the 'wolf in sheep's clothing'.

A Jew in Nazi Germany knew he would be targeted, but an average Russian often never knew. As Solzhenitsyn documented, people were often rounded up and sent to the gulags or executed just to meet a quota.

I agree, but communists have always had an unearned respectability among some people in the West so I will settle for their equivalence with Nazism.
