Politico, so 50/50 it’s true. If it is, WOW. The left will go INSANE. Well, even more insane. If Alito writes the opinion, that means Roberts voted with the left in a 5-4 split. Actually, that’s a good thing, as Roberts would have written the opinion in such a way as to weaken it.
As Chief Justice, Roberts is known to have a soft spot for relative unanimity. Do you really think he would join the minority in a 5-4 decision just because he disagrees with a strongly worded stand against Roe?
Aren’t there only 8 justices who can vote on this? It’d be a 5-3 decision, right?
