What is surprising to me is the number of Ukrainians that seem to be supporting Putin. I saw a video the other day of Ukrainians welcoming the Russians in along the side of the roads as they passed by.
———-
Those are the eastern Donbass provinces. They declared their Independence from Ukraine in 2014/15. The Ukies started bombing them since then, UN Human Rights states 14-22,000 in the Donbass were killed by the Ukies.

The eastern half of Ukraine (Donbass area provinces) are ethnic speaking Russians. They got fed up with all the Ukrainian corruption, massive, from their banks to their stores, to their mafia.

he Ukies started bombing them since then, UN Human Rights states 14-22,000 in the Donbass were killed by the Ukies.

Here we go again. That lie gets posted here regularly by the Putin propaganda club.

This is what the UN report you are citing says:

"OHCHR estimates the total number of conflict-related casualties in Ukraine from 14 April 2014 to 31 December 2021 to be 51,000–54,000: 14,200-14,400 killed (at least 3,404 civilians, estimated 4,400 Ukrainian forces, and estimated 6,500 members of armed groups), and 37-39,000 injured (7,000–9,000 civilians, 13,800–14,200 Ukrainian forces and 15,800-16,200 members of armed groups).

The approximately 14,000 people includes 4,400 Ukrainian military, 6500 LPR, DNR, and Russian military, and about 3400 civilians on both sides.

Your statement is intentionally misleading and false. About 1700 civilians on the separatist side of the boundary have been killed. The other half of the civilians were killed by the separatists and their Russian sponsors.

Why do you keep posting utterly false Russian propaganda?

Official UN figures are based on Ukrainian estimates which were independently scrutinised. Russia doesn’t keep its own count nut even it broadly accepts the same stats given by Ukraine.

https://tass.com/world/1289095

https://www.rferl.org/a/death-toll-up-to-13-000-in-ukraine-conflict-says-un-rights-office/29791647.html

Note, even Russia accepts (officially!) that the 14400 figure is legitimate as it is based on verifiable evidence. That figure includes over 8000 combatants from BOTH sides. And civilian deaths on BOTH sides. And a number of indirect deaths, eg by people stepping on landmines or being involved in vehicular accidents.

The civilian deaths also include 300 people on a Malaysian passenger flight, shot down by Russia.

So the statement you made that all the deaths were “killed by the ukes” is a straight up fake that’s spammed out by the FSB’s troll factory, and all you need to do to prove it’s a lie is look at the UN site. Which states categorically how the casualties break down.

The idea the UN puvlished stats attribute 22000 deaths in Donbas only to Ukrainian nationalists is so breathtakingly dishonest even Tass won’t repeat that. It’d be debunked in five seconds flat.

Your higher figure of 22000 is even more completely unsubstantiated, and has absolutely no verifiable basis. What’s your source? Some Q dorum? A Russian beermat?

Congratulations, comrade, you really are not immune to propaganda.

By the way - I have two Russian Ukrainians here in my house, from the Donbass. One speaks only Russian, the other speaks four languages including Russian and Ukrainian, both have family in Russia and both fled WEST to get away from Putin’s Kadyrovites and rapists and Wagner neonazis.

They tell me that Donbass wanted to be a bridge between Russia and Ukraine - Poroshenko burned that bridge but not to the extent they felt the need to flee the country. By contrast they blame Putin’s invasion for that bridge being completely burned in boyh directions.

Ask yourself if the propaganda you’re dining on is based in fact why are far more Russian Ukrainians heading WEST, travelling for weeks in some cases, to escape the war than going a couple of hundred miles east into Russia?
