What [this internal working group] will do is gather together best practices in addressing the threat of disinformation from foreign state adversaries, from the cartels and disseminate those best practices to the OPERATORS that have been executing and addressing this threat for years.”
Sounds like this “group” to meant to direct the censors at Twitter, Facebook, CNNNBCMSNBCCBSABCNYTWAPO, etc., who do the dirty work under the guise of it being part of their “business”.
A “reporter” might have asked:
WHO specifically are these OPERATORS? Name some examples.
Why did you inject the term “CARTELS”? What “CARTELS” are involved in disinformation campaigns?
If this is about foreign actors only, why is it centered in the Department of HOMELAND Security? Why appoint an ultra-partisan domestic policy guerilla with no foreign intel experience as the head of a “working group” dealing with foreign disinformation?
If the US government decides what is truth regarding foreign affairs, how can the American public evaluate diverse viewpoints and decide what to believe and how to vote?
