I have dreams of those things coming toward me. I read somewhere that the chimney collapsed on his wife.
That classic black funnel...wow.
That is a different perspective than the tornado hunters get. It changes my opinion about tornadoes and the outright destruction and death which they can cause! Just, Wow!
I read a comment asking if the white clouds that show up on the initial spin up are caused by water vapor undergoing rapid pressure change.
Any thoughts?
I’ve heard different things like speed of rotation, pressure, temperature, moisture, height. They tend to be more compact.
I’ve been through two tornadoes and they are frightening. The last one was Oct 2020 which fortunately just brushed one side of the house but tore my Mom’s house across the street up pretty bad.
F 3 tornado in New Orleans (Arabi) one month ago. Extensive damage.
Yeah, the ones associated with supercells seem to be particularly nasty.
I spent a few months in Kansas, did some chasing, but never seen/experienced one.
