I see that prior to April 24th or so there had been months with no covid deaths in Shanghi. A total of about 300 people have died in the last 7 days.

So yes, 300 people in the last week where previously there had been no deaths due to covid. But - this out of a population of 26 million people! (NYC is 8 million.)
