Dozens of people were trapped under a building which collapsed in central China, officials said on Saturday (Apr 30), as rescuers clawed through the rubble and used buzzsaws to pull several survivors free.
The building, which housed a hotel, apartments and cinema, caved in on Friday afternoon in Changsha city, Hunan province.
At least 23 people remained trapped late Saturday, while 39 others were uncontactable after the incident, the mayor of Changsha mayor told reporters.

Apart from the lettering on the store signage, these could be NYC tenements. Most of the collapses in NYC have been of century-old buildings whose foundations were undermined by nearby construction. Gotta wonder how old these structures are.

There are a couple of guys who spent years in China, doing English tutoring and such, who did a series of YouTube documentaries about life in China. Until the Chinese government tossed them out.

Yeah, I was gonna suggest we send some of our Florida guys over to give the chicoms a few pointers. But how do we know this one didn’t last 40 years? Part of the “Great Leap Forward?”

The two dudes who professed that America and the West had absolutely nothing to do with Russia’s invasion of Ukraine . I stopped watching them after I heard that . And they were China fans until they moved back to the States and realized there was more money in knocking China 100% of the time .
