So, this plan has been being discussed for six weeks, six weeks in which the war has not been resolved, and in which Russia seems to be locking in territorial gains in the East.

Under the guise of "peacekeeping" are we really seeing the start of the partition of the fomer Ukraine into a much smaller buffer state between an enlarged Greater Russia and an enlarged Greater Poland. A state that might more closely resemble the 19th century version of Ukraine?

This is what Russian Intelligence is saying now:

This is what is being reported in the Russian (English Language) press:

Poland has secret plan for Ukraine, Moscow claims

Ukraine's western frontiers were last redrawn after World War II when Poland agreed to part with the Eastern Galicia region and most of Volhynia, which were incorporated into the Ukrainian Soviet Socialist Republic. Warsaw was compensated with land which had previously been part of Germany, most notably gaining the port city of Gdansk (Danzig).

Washington, Warsaw Plot 'Reunification' of Poland & Western Ukraine - Russian Foreign Intel Chief

As restored after the First World War, Poland included a large part of what is now western Ukraine, particularly Galicia, Volhynia and Polisia. Much of modern Ukraine was originally part of the Polish–Lithuanian Commonwealth, only to be divided between it and the Russian Empire later.

So, as always in this area of the world, there are historic claims, and justifications, and there is the endless push of power exercised by those who have it, at the expense of those who don't.

How ironic would it be for Ukraine to lose territory on both the east and western borders as an unintended consequence of the war?

There was a UN peacekeeping mission in Korea 70 years ago. It drove the North Koreans back almost to the Yalu River, and then kept the Chinese from holding positions below the 38th parallel.

This sounds like Russian garbage to say “See, Poland wants to go and take historical land too.”

What ever happened to the constant parade of politicians and pundits calling for a “no fly zone?”

Another media slogan that passed its sell-by date?

Peacekeeping mission sounds fine provided it’s backed by the full firepower of NATO. The first peacekeeper gets hit and NATO launches on the Russian military

Back to Lwow.

Of course, Russia can offer the Germans (Vienna AND Berlin) a much better deal.

Poland is trying to punch above its weight. Bądź ostrożny.

So Poland is going to try to get their slice, too.

Why not?

Good post—Putin is playing chess again—offering to give land to Poland and some Balkan countries from former Ukraine territory to get them on board.

Meanwhile the US and Western Europe are howling at the moon while they throw checkers around the room.

WOW! i DIDN’T KNOW THIS!

Russians are fighting against Russians on the side of #Ukraine -
The white-blue-white flags stand for a free democratic Russia without the Putin regime.

Since March 2022 it is also a symbol of protests against the Russian invasion in Ukraine, used mainly in Russia but also in other countries!

Why would Poland want to annex Lviv, which is a hotbed for Stepan Bandera supporters? They’re already having problems as is with the influx of Ukrainian refugees, all this would do is cause even more problems.

It would make sense to divide Ukraine along these lines.

More Russian disinformation. Most importantly, while some Polish intellectuals have floated the idea of a Poland-Ukraine-Lithuania union, that hasn’t come from anyone in the government, and it does not involve any concessions to Russia regarding the territory of Ukraine. So any union would make Ukraine instantly a part of NATO.

Russian misinformation on what the Poles and others mean/intend about the peackeeping mission.

As someone else pointed out, the UN peacekeeping mission is what kicked the norks back to north of the 38th parallel. I am assuming that such a thing - kicking Putin back to Russia, is what the Polish have in mind.

I think people are missing something central.

Blinken wants a “forever war” to weaken Russia.

He wants a NATO war against Russia down to the last Ukrainian.

The problem is...

That Ukrainians do not agree to this.

First watch this video:

https://www.bitchute.com/video/ysVLo8BLRqEi/

These kind of protests are what happened just before Ukraine moved to settle the conflict that broke out in 2014. Mothers and wives of draftees found out that the officers were sending draftees to death with little regard or purpose. The officer runs away and orders a suicide charge or stand.

The mothers and wives played no small part in ending the conflict. Why? Because the men are trapped. They will get shot for “desertion” if they run way or protest. It is illegal for men to leave the country. There is no vote coming. The officers don’t care. The government doesn’t care. NATO and Europe really, really, really don’t care about these men of Ukraine.

I think this will happen again.
