BenLurkin's Maps are a good reference to understand the Historical distribution of the groups of the region.

Significant numbers of Poles inhabited the areas of Western Ukraine.

Dehumanizing the other side is how we got the Holocaust and other WWII atrocities. You might wanna tone down your rhetoric. We get it. You’re rooting for Ukraine. But you’re forgetting that Russia and Ukraine still have to live next to each other no matter who wins. At some point the hate has to end or they’ll never have peace...and more Ukrainians will die.

Funny you mention dehumanizing the other side. Survivors in Bucha said the Russian soldiers said they were there to denazify Ukraine.

More Russian disinformation. Most importantly, while some Polish intellectuals have floated the idea of a Poland-Ukraine-Lithuania union, that hasn’t come from anyone in the government, and it does not involve any concessions to Russia regarding the territory of Ukraine. So any union would make Ukraine instantly a part of NATO.

Russian misinformation on what the Poles and others mean/intend about the peackeeping mission.

As someone else pointed out, the UN peacekeeping mission is what kicked the norks back to north of the 38th parallel. I am assuming that such a thing - kicking Putin back to Russia, is what the Polish have in mind.

I speculated if the Russians moved into Kiev, Western Ukraine would break off and become “The Republic of Galicia”.

Poland wasn’t exactly Ukraine’s best bud during WWII. In fact, they refused to recognize Ukraine.

your point is well taken. And as to “pay the price in men necessary” in driving them off the peninsula, we paid a heavy price keeping the 38th. The Chinese and Nk forces kept trying to move the line south.

“Ukraine’s western frontiers were last redrawn after World War II when Poland agreed to part with the Eastern Galicia region and most of Volhynia, which were incorporated into the Ukrainian Soviet Socialist Republic. Warsaw was compensated with land which had previously been part of Germany, most notably gaining the port city of Gdansk (Danzig).”

Yes. the puppet Communist government agreed to it.

I think people are missing something central.

Blinken wants a “forever war” to weaken Russia.

He wants a NATO war against Russia down to the last Ukrainian.

The problem is...

That Ukrainians do not agree to this.

First watch this video:

https://www.bitchute.com/video/ysVLo8BLRqEi/

These kind of protests are what happened just before Ukraine moved to settle the conflict that broke out in 2014. Mothers and wives of draftees found out that the officers were sending draftees to death with little regard or purpose. The officer runs away and orders a suicide charge or stand.

The mothers and wives played no small part in ending the conflict. Why? Because the men are trapped. They will get shot for “desertion” if they run way or protest. It is illegal for men to leave the country. There is no vote coming. The officers don’t care. The government doesn’t care. NATO and Europe really, really, really don’t care about these men of Ukraine.

I think this will happen again.

As in Korea, you know who’d be doing the majority of bleeding and paying on the Ukrainian “peacekeeper” side to drive the Russians anywhere.

Weak propaganda. Here’s a better link to the article posted above this thread.

You are correct, I might add that Europeans have a long history of killing one another off and soliciting others to do the same, inside and outside Europe.

So after the years of pushing massive propaganda about Ukrainian Nazis, peasants, not a real nation and so on, after starting two wars and killing thousands of people, now you dudes claim some victimhood and play the Holocaust card ?

“There was a UN peacekeeping mission in Korea 70 years ago. It drove the North Koreans back almost to the Yalu River, and then kept the Chinese from holding positions below the 38th parallel.”

There was no veto on the Security Council and it was 90% American.
