For all we know, since there is no video of him saying any such thing, they have him locked up in a basement or hospice room somewhere, isolated and being fed only what they want him to know, like Jill does to Bidan. I don’t think he has been out much if at all since the heart surgery, and that was followed by Covid, so I doubt they let too many people get face time with him.
His comment does seem consistent with his wacky daughter’s jihad against Trump. The Cheney’s are a strange lot indeed.
