As a former commissioned officer in the USN stationed aboard Naval Base Point Loma, a submarine base, I’ve spoken with enough to know most submariners are a very odd bunch. That goes all the way up to the old man and I’ve briefed my share of O6 former Skippers.
Odd bunch. Sort of like DIs except DIs can turn whatever it is that makes them odd off.
But damn comforting to know they’re out there patrolling the seas wielding amazing firepower. It’s a shame the one who yields it is an utter nutcase.

Agree, and it's also comforting to know that the entire US Navy is so versatile, adaptable, experienced and dedicated that they WILL get the job done.
