Based on your reasoning, maybe we should let Putin roll over the rest of Europe. Surely he can’t possibly do anything useful with it. Heck - let him roll over the Middle East. What’s the big deal?

Here’s a bit of reality. Without US help, Russia would already be done with the invasion. It would have taken more than 3 days, but it would be over.

If there’s anyone who needs to step away from the Risk board, it’s Putin. Until he does, we need to keep bleeding him.

I think, if Russia had “rolled over” Ukraine, after Ukraine puts up a worthy fight, several nearby countries would have been irrestistibly compelled to intervene.
