One recalls Tom Clancy writing about this back when he was still with us in some magazine or newspaper article somewhere.

"If someone tries to sell you a used Soviet tank, say "Nyet!""

This was not long after he had written Rainbow Six, with some help, about an insane computer software billionaire who undertook a plan to wipe out 99 percent or so of humanity.

He died not long after that, IIRC. But I digress...

I was just thinking of the book Red Storm Rising that i read back in the late 80’s.
One thing that book taught me was the fact that i would NEVER intentionally find myself in a tank during battle..
