LOL I thought the same thing…yeah, in San Diego the air is (often) warmer, but the ocean itself there is still frigid. Wet suits required for surfing or boarding…even in Mission Bay.

I can tell you from personal experience…the difference in water temp in the Pacific from Long Beach to San Diego isn’t enough to make a difference. The air is certainly warmer, the water not all that much.
